(Why did you ask?)
[Poocha Kyun?] (Why did you ask?)
Note: Names of people/places have been changed/removed for a general audience.
There was once a person who wanted to enter a place of worship. He was like any other and there were thousands like him. People thronging, moving in and out of the gold topped place of worship.
As a measure of security, a few tall security guards with religious uniform and holding a long heavy javelin were placed at strategic places. There was an IN and and OUT and people followed the markers generally. The queue was generally followed, and wherever not, the approach of the guards itself would make the people fall in line automatically. No words were spoken. All was understood.
This person, when seeing the guard approaching, asked: "Can I go in?"
The guard shifted his eyes to the man and made a sign (no words were spoken) asking him to wait on the verandah. The man complied and started waiting on the verandah.
An hour passed and the guard did not come towards this person.
Another hour passed and the person became restless but kept waiting.
Another hour passed and the person could not hold himself any longer and went near the guard and asked him: "Everyone is going in, why am I being asked to wait?".
The guard replied, without turning to him:
[Poocha Kyun?] (Why did you ask? )
