चित्ते भ्रान्तिर्जायते... -देवसुत

चित्ते भ्रान्तिर्जायते मद्यपानद्भ्रान्ते चित्ते पापचर्यामुपेति
पापं क्रत्वा दुर्गतिं यान्ति मूढा स्तस्मान्मद्यं नवै पेयम् न पेयम् ||

English translation of Sanskrit Quote:
Consuming liquor (alcohol) causes the mind to be confused (chitta Bhranti - cannot decide what is right and what is wrong), as a result of which the drunkard commits sinful deeds (paapcharya) and thereby his condition becomes miserable (durgati). So, O, unwise persons (moodha), never drink liquor, NEVER.

chitte bhrantirjAyate madyapAnad-bhrante, chhitte paapcharya-mupaeti,
pApam kritwA durgatim yAnti moodhAs-tadtmsAn-madyam navai paeyam na paeyam.

ক্যায়ার/অফ্ -Dev

তোমাকে ,
যদি বলি -
আমার আশা থাকে
পলাশের ডালে ডালে ,
যদি বলি -
আমার কবিতার গোপন
অবাধ্য শব্দ তুমি ,
যদি বলি -
বিকেলে ছায়াদের মিছিল
টানে আমায় তোমার অন্যরূপ
যদি বলি -
তোমায় না ছোঁয়ার যন্ত্রণা
আমার নিকষ আঁধারে আলো
যদি বলি -
আমার স্বপ্ন আর অনুভূতি
তোমারই ফেরার অপেক্ষায়
যদি বলি -
এখনও কি তুমি ঠোঁটে আঙুল রাখো
হঠাৎ যদি বসন্তে বৃষ্টি নামে ?
যদি বলি -
এখনও কি ভাবো যে
আমি তোমার গল্পের প্রথম লাইন !
তবে শোনো -
এই অবেলায় তোমারই আকাশ
শূণ্য মাঝে বৃষ্টি হয়ে পূর্ণ খোঁজে

Conscious evolution... -Harekrishna

Consciousness is ascribed to the asking of the question "Who am I?" - which is actually a recognition of ones own existence, which is in turn, based on the "senses". Evolution of the senses is essential to the rise of consciousness. And "meditation", not "addiction", is the method to evolve them to sense beyond the immediate environment. To go beyond in space and in time. When the senses correlate events in time, a sixth sense starts to exist. And when the sixth sense extra-polates into the future, tangible predictions can be made and then verified as they happen.

मद्यपस्य कुतः सत्यं दया मांसाशिनः कुतः
कामिनश्च कुतो विद्या निर्धनस्य कुतः क्रिया ||

English transalation of Sanskrit quote:
It is futile to expect a drunkard (madyapasya = person addicted to alcohol/drugs) to speak truthfully, a carnivorous person (maasa-shina) being kind hearted, an oversexed person being learned and a poor person being active and enterprising.

madyapasya kutah satyam daya mAnsAshinah kutah,
kAminashcha kuto vidya nirdhanasya kutahh kriyA.

अँधेरी रात में दीपक जलाये कौन बैठा है?
उठी ऐसी घटा नभ में
छिपे सब चाँद और तारे,
उठा तूफ़ान वह नभ में
गए बुझ दीप भी सारे,
मगर इस रात में भी लौ लगाये कौन बैठा है?
अँधेरी रात में दीपक जलाये कौन बैठा है?

गगन में गर्व से उठ उठ
गगन में गर्व से घिर घिर,
गरज कहती घटाए हैं
नहीं होगा उजाला फिर,
मगर चिर ज्योति में निष्ठा जमाये कौन बैठा है?

तिमिर के राज्य का ऐसा
कठिन आतंक छाया है,
उठा जो शीश सकते थे

क्षणशः कणशश्चैव... -देवसुत

क्षणशः कणशश्चैव विद्यामर्थं च साधयेत् ।
क्षणत्यागे कुतो विद्या कणत्यागे कुतो धनम्॥

Time (kshana) must be treated like material - preciously, while collecting knowledge. Waste time and you waste knowledge, just as, wasting material causes a drain in wealth (dhanam).

Transliteration:
kshanashah kanshashchaiva vidyAmartham ch sAdhayaet,
kshanatyAge kuto vidya, kanatyAge kuto dhanam.

कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती -Harivansh Rai Bachchan

कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती,
लहरों से डर कर नौका पार नहीं होती |

नन्हीं चींटी जब दाना लेकर चलती है,
चढ़ती दीवारों पर, सौ बार फिसलती है।
मन का विश्वास रगों में साहस भरता है,
चढ़कर गिरना, गिरकर चढ़ना न अखरता है।
आख़िर उसकी मेहनत बेकार नहीं होती,
कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती।

डुबकियां सिंधु में गोताखोर लगाता है,
जा जा कर खाली हाथ लौटकर आता है।
मिलते नहीं सहज ही मोती गहरे पानी में,
बढ़ता दुगना उत्साह इसी हैरानी में।
मुट्ठी उसकी खाली हर बार नहीं होती,
कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती।

असफलता एक चुनौती है, इसे स्वीकार करो,
क्या कमी रह गई, देखो और सुधार करो।
जब तक न सफल हो, नींद चैन को त्यागो तुम,
संघर्ष का मैदान छोड़ कर मत भागो तुम।
कुछ किये बिना ही जय जय कार नहीं होती,
कोशिश करने वालों की कभी हार नहीं होती।|

जीवन में एक सितारा था
माना वह बेहद प्यारा था
वह डूब गया तो डूब गया
अम्बर के आनन को देखो
कितने इसके तारे टूटे
कितने इसके प्यारे छूटे
जो छूट गए फिर कहाँ मिले
पर बोलो टूटे तारों पर
कब अम्बर शोक मनाता है
जो बीत गई सो बात गई |

जीवन में वह था एक कुसुम
थे उसपर नित्य निछावर तुम
वह सूख गया तो सूख गया
मधुवन की छाती को देखो
सूखी कितनी इसकी कलियाँ
मुर्झाई कितनी वल्लरियाँ
जो मुर्झाई फिर कहाँ खिली
पर बोलो सूखे फूलों पर
कब मधुवन शोर मचाता है
जो बीत गई सो बात गई |

जीवन में मधु का प्याला था
तुमने तन मन दे डाला था
वह टूट गया तो टूट गया
मदिरालय का आँगन देखो
कितने प्याले हिल जाते हैं
गिर मिट्टी में मिल जाते हैं
जो गिरते हैं कब उठतें हैं
पर बोलो टूटे प्यालों पर
कब मदिरालय पछताता है
जो बीत गई सो बात गई |

मृदु मिटटी के हैं बने हुए
मधु घट फूटा ही करते हैं
लघु जीवन लेकर आए हैं
प्याले टूटा ही करते हैं
फिर भी मदिरालय के अन्दर
मधु के घट हैं मधु प्याले हैं
जो मादकता के मारे हैं
वे मधु लूटा ही करते हैं
वह कच्चा पीने वाला है
जिसकी ममता घट प्यालों पर
जो सच्चे मधु से जला हुआ
कब रोता है चिल्लाता है
जो बीत गई सो बात गई।।
