सोSस्य दोषो न मन्तव्यः क्षमा हि... -विदुर नीति

सोSस्य दोषो न मन्तव्यः क्षमा हि परमं बलं |
क्षमा गुणो अशक्तानां शक्तानां भूषणं क्षमा ||

- विदुर नीति

भावार्थ - हमें किसी व्यक्ति में क्षमा करने की भावना को उसका दोष
नहीं मानना चाहिये क्यों कि क्षमा करना परम् शक्ति का प्रतीक है |
जो व्यक्ति अशक्त (शक्तिहीन ) होते हैं तो यह उनका एक गुण है तथा
शक्तिशाली व्यक्तियों के लिये उनकी शोभा बढाने के लिये एक आभूषण
के समान है |
(एक अशक्त व्यक्ति यदि क्षमाशील न हो तो उसे सदैव अन्य व्यक्तियों
से व्यवहार करने में कठिनाई होती है और उसे विनम्र और क्षमाशील हो कर
ही अपना कार्य सिद्ध करना पडता है | इसके विपरीत एक शक्तिशाली व्यक्ति
यदि किसी त्रुटि को क्षमा करता है तो यह उसकी महानता कहलाती है )

Transliteration:
Sosya dosho na mantavyah kshamaa hi paramam balam.
Kshamaa guno ashaktaanaam shaktaanaam bhooshanam kshmaa,

English Translation of Sanskrit Quote:
Sosya = sah +asya. Sah = its. Asya = this. Dosho= shortcoming.
defcct. Na =not, Mantavyo = to be considered as. Kshmaa=
forgiveness. Hi = surely. Paramam = supreme. Balam = power.
Guno = virtue. Ashaktaanaam = those who are not powerful.
Shaktaanaam = those who are powerful. Bhooshaam = adornment,
embellishment.

We should not treat the forgiving nature of a person as his defect
or a shortcoming , because forgiveness is the supreme power. It is a
virtue among the not so powerful but is like a jewel in the personality of a powerful person.
