One ought not to indulge... - Sri Aurobindo

One ought not to indulge ideas of incapacity, inability to respond, dwelling too much on defects and failures and allowing the mind to be in pain and shame on their account; for these ideas and feelings become in the end weakening things. If there are difficulties, stumblings or failures, one has to look at them quietly and call in tranquilly and persistently the Divine help for their removal, but not to allow oneself to be upset or pained or discouraged. Yoga is not an easy path and the total change of the nature can not be done in a day.

The fault of character... - Sri Aurobindo

The fault of character is common and almost universal in human nature. The impulse to speak what is untrue or at least to exaggerate or understate or twist the truth so as to flatter one's own vanity, preferences, wishes or to get some advantage or secure something desired is very general. But one must learn to speak the truth alone if one is to succeed truly in changing the nature.

को विदेशः सविद्यानां कः परः प्रियवादिनाम्॥
- पञ्चतन्त्रम्

What can be an excessive workload for efficient people, what is distant (difficult to attain) for those who are persistent in their efforts, which place is a foreign land for the learned people and who is a stranger for those who speak pleasantly?
