The day is covered
by the black velvet night.
Shining through the tiny
moth bites, the stars.
A gaping hole crowns
the night with moonlit light.
And as we bathe ourselves
in illumination…
The skin feels the bouncing
rays of the night-light,
As it traverses the distance
between the sun, the moon and us.
The silence of the night
reverberates in melancholy.
The ears so used of the daily din
feel robbed empty….
Until the moon echoes nostalgically
of the moonlit nights past.
Wrapped under
this black velvet I stay.
Gazing into the oblivion
of the twinkling starlight.
The moon speaks softly in my ear,
of those I so wished were here.
